Attorney
Nick grew up skiing and fishing in Bozeman and graduated from Carroll College before attending law school at the University of Montana.

After earning his law degree in 2013 and clerking for Justice Mike Wheat at the Montana Supreme Court, Nick joined John Smith and Colin Stephens in 2015. When John retired in 2021, Nick and Colin partnered to form Stephens Brooke, P.C.

Nick is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer in a wide variety of criminal cases. At trial, he has successfully obtained acquittals for his clients from charges ranging from assault with a weapon to serious sexual crimes. On appeal to the Montana Supreme Court, he has successfully reversed his client's convictions for deliberate homicide, sexual intercourse without consent, theft, stalking, and many other serious crimes. Nick is also the current treasurer of the Montana Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, an organization dedicated to ensuring justice and due process for persons accused of crimes.

Nick married his wife, Samantha, shortly after law school and welcomed their new daughter in 2023. He and his family enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle fishing on Montana's rivers, hunting pheasants on the plains, and skiing the mountains with their trusty Labrador retriever.
